Try that today!

My dad (Pop-o) smoked non-filter Camels for nearly 40 years at two packs a day! One day in November in the mid 80's he quit cold turkey and never touched a cigarette again!
Tell THAT to those doctors and let them take the challenge!

Black Jack Gum

I really don't remember it "quenching my thirst".

What I do recall, though, is chewing that sweet, black gum, and then taking a little piece - flattening it, and putting it on one of your front teeth so it looked like you just had a fight and got one of your teeth knocked out!

Do You Remember When?

Nobody owned a purebred dog?

Nearly everyone's Mom was at home when the kids got home from school?

And HONESTLY, Father really DID know best!

Don't Throw the Baby Out!

Next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:
***********************
Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the Bath water!"

A Pot to What?

Next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:
*****************
They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery.......if you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor" But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn't even afford to buy a pot...........they "didn't have a pot to piss in" and were the lowest of the low.
